Additional Info

South Quay Plaza was previously devastated by an IRA bomb in 1988.Situated opposite South Quay DLR station the project consisted of remodelling parts of the basement car park and the ground floor and mezzanine plant rooms to form a new retail space , commuter facilities , plant rooms , new basement car park entrance . security and CCTV studios and other support spaces. The main retail space for Pret a Manger was formed by removing substantial structural elements and the mezzanine plant room floor and installing a storey and half height structural glazed façade. All of these operation were undertaken whilst normal trading floor operations carried on in the 30 storey building. Integration of new critical services was fundamental to the success of the project and programming was critical to avoid downtime.
